Assistant Loan Processor

Department: Processor
Location: Reno, NV

Summary of Duties: Liaison between Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO), Borrower(s), and Operations regarding loan applications. Responsible for the processing of loan packages from initial submission to loan funding.

Essential Duties:

  • Issue proper loan disclosures
  • Review all documents thoroughly before submission to assure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Prepares loan file for submission for underwriting
  • Communicates with borrower(s) to collect and upload any supporting documentation for loan file
  • Compile all loan conditions, including any post-closing conditions
  • Review all supporting documentation and loan conditions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Communication with MLO with status of the file, as needed
  • Liaison with all parties, including but limited to the borrower(s), MLO, and operations team
  • Maintain regular and designated office hours at the direction of the branch manager
  • Be discreet and protective of borrower(s) information, both personal and financial
  • Maintain necessary knowledge to successfully perform job responsibilities
  • Conduct business in accordance with iServe’s/NAD’s core values of honesty; integrity, and transparency
  • Act as a role model/leader in achieving organizational results.
  • Seek innovative alternatives to performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, as well as with team members to achieve department growth.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum two years’ job related experience.
  • Residential mortgage banking knowledge.
  • Knowledge of documentation required to prepare a complete file for submission to underwriting.
  • Basic knowledge of PCs and related Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret mortgage documents, real estate sales contracts, valuation forms and attorney correspondence as well as company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and employees of the company.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to problem solve under a variety of situations and circumstances.
  • Self-motivated with strong desire to succeed.
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi task. Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Strong team oriented atmosphere. Professionalism and integrity are essential.
